Frump to Funk?

hellos to all.

I've always see these big beautiful plus sized woman with awesome fashion sense. I admire their confidence. They are big and beautiful and you can tell they are proud. They look great.
I have always loved fashion, but as a teenager you would have never known. I wore baggy tee shirts, pants, shorts... Anything I could find that was baggy! I just wanted to hide everything I didn't like. I began to realize after high school that I only made myself look like I was drowning in fabrics. I wanted to re-invent myself. Show off some of my best features and really break out that cute stuff I've always wanted to wear.
Learning what not to wear for my type of body has been a long battle that I'm continuing to try and conquer. Its been many years since that baggy mess I used to be but I think I've made some progress and really gained confidence in myself!
When I started this journey I didn't have much money and high hopes for the cents I could stretch. I made a lot of mistakes in the beginning because I wanted to just get the cute stuff in my closet and get it over with. But it takes a lot of time and if your pinching pennies, much longer! I bought many, many outfits that just weren't right for me. I tend to buy things out of the ordinary because I like the funky, indie, retro, or unique style to it, but I learned along the way it was to fit me right too or its a waste! Sometimes the piece was too extreme. So extreme that I couldn't muster the confidence to wear it.
I'm going to show you my closet; teach you tips and tricks I learned along the way. Show you fun DIY fashions, and teach you how to be a more thrifty shopper. Hopefully you will learn a thing or two from my experience. I would love to hear your tips & tricks or stories about you becoming frump to funk.
